$ 9.11

I am currently a cashier at Petco. yip.
I was ringing up a customer yesterday who freaked out because her total was $ 9.11.

Of course,
I saw nothing by it (yes. 9/11 did make me sad but, Idk. Don't judge me.)
She jumped out of her panic and was like,
"Don't you have some donation for homeless animals?!"

I added a donation, she paid with an emotionless face, and walked out shaking.

A couple months back,

I had another customer who started crying and said her husband was 'murdered' when she saw that her total was $ 9.11.

I felt bad.

In my head, after that, I was trying to compare and contrast the meanings of kill, murder, assassinate, etc.

Sorry.

My mind runs a million miles per hour.

I try not to get into conversations about 9/11 because of three things:

1) Americans are gullible and believe everything the media says WITHOUT doing research.
2) I HATE when people classify the terrorists as Muslims and go on a tangent about how Muslims are all terrorists.
And
3) My fiance just so happens to be an Arab Muslim.. so, in some cases, people have seen me as the enemy.
